Yoga for Survivors®:
Cultivating Strength and Stability During Cancer Treatment
Cancer is typically a time of exhaustion, with most patients too tired to exercise. But maintaining muscular strength is crucial to the proper functioning of the physical body, especially during a time of stress. In this session we will explore ways to safely maintain and build strength without depleting vital resources. This floor-based practice can also be useful in working with other conditions in which the practitioner has limited energy. All levels welcome, please bring a yoga block and strap.
Laura is a certified yoga therapist at the 1,000 hour level, and has established yoga
programs in hospitals, cancer centers, and physical therapy clinics. Her specialty is
working with cancer survivors, special needs children, and women with fertility issues;
she also leads teacher trainings for other yogis who want to work with cancer survivors.
When not on the mat she is a career coach who helps other wellness professionals
increase their impact on their community. Laura lives in Boulder, Colorado and is
passionate about the healing power of yoga.
